In the article, “Vincent Van Gogh” by Jennifer B. Petersen and Joshua Prichard, it says, “...what would later be called his postimpressionist style. After two years in Paris, van Gogh had developed an unhealthy lifestyle. He drank and smoked to excess. His diet was meager and his health suffered. He began to feel depressed in his surroundings and sought the warmth of the sun.”

Additionally, his life was ended at the age of 37 from his suicide by gun. “At the end of July, however, van Gogh took his painting supplies out to the fields along with a revolver. He shot himself in the chest and staggered back to his bed at the Ravous Inn where he was later discovered. Though he was still alive, doctors opted not to remove the bullet from his body. Theo was summoned and arrived the following day to hold his brother while he died. Vincent van Gogh passed away at 1:30 AM on July 29, 1890 at the age of thirty-seven.” (Jennifer B.
