Who was Vincent Van Gogh?
Vincent Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter from the 1800’s and suffered throughout his life. He was born in Zundert, Netherlands on March 30, 1853. During his hard lifetime, he had experienced anxiety, horrible depression, poor malnutrition, and poor finances, but was extremely devoted to his unrecognized talents within his art. However, Vincent had a very strong bond with his brother, Theo Van Gogh. Theo stayed with him until Vincent died when he shot himself in the chest, dying in his brother’s arms two days later. Vincent did not become famous until after his lifetime. His most famous paintings include The Starry Night, Sunflowers, and View of Arles with Irises in the Foreground. (Left to right below)
